Nameless and faceless people living on the streets

Perhaps we never notice or see them, out of focus to us.  Where do you start when someone has lost everything, no home, no security, perhaps even no hope!

MRCT supports homeless and vulnerably housed people in Harlow, working in partnership with  Streets2Homes  and the  Salvation Army Harlow.

This is achieved by providing community services and resources for people in crisis or at their point of need during times of uncertainty in their lives.

What do we mean by being homeless?

When people think of homelessness, they usually think of rough sleepers. But homelessness is a much wider problem - affecting hundreds of thousands of families and individuals every year.

These households may have a roof over their heads but they are often living in inadequate 'temporary' housing which damages their health and well-being.

Homelessness can affect anyone: families, childless couples and single people. And it's not just a housing problem: it has impacts on health, educational achievement and employment opportunities.

Working in Harlow

In partnership with Streets2Homes,  Maybury - St Pauls  provides cover for users when the Street2Homes centre is closed on Tuesdays.

The Maybury Centre at St Paul’s Church is also open during the evening from 19.30 to 21.30 on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month.  Hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, soup and pastries are provided during the evening and the centre is coordinated by a team of our staff and volunteers.
