Chris Grayling MP visits Maybury Open Door April 2008 Chris Grayling MP, Shadow Minister for Works & Pensions, visited the Maybury Open Door at Harefield Church in Harlow on Monday 21st April 2008. He spent over an hour talking and mixing with the users of the centre and experiencing some of the activities on offer to its visitors each week.
Gary Knott, Director of Community Services for the Michael Roberts Charitable Trust (MRCT) who coordinate the Maybury Open Door stated: "We were really impressed with the enthusiasm given to our work by Chris and encouraged that he made time to speak with many of our users who visit us each week. He was really interested in our work, with people with a disability, and had an open ear to many of the difficulties we face as a small Harlow based charity." Special thanks to Robert Halfon for his interest in our work and for arranging this visit which will greatly raise the profile of our charity in the future.
