As part of his visit to Harlow on Friday 20th January 2012 The Right Honourable Ed Miliband MP, Leader of the Labour Party & Leader of the Opposition, came to Rainbow Services and visited Gary Knott at the MRCT office.

He was accompanied by Suzy Stride, Labours Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Harlow.  During the visit Ed & Suzy came to the MRCT office and spent time talking with Gary Knott about the work of MRCT in Harlow and thanked him and his team of staff and volunteers for their commitment to the local community.

Gary Knott, Director of Community Services for MRCT commented

“We were informed in advance that Ed Miliband would be visiting the Rainbow Centre but could not announce it for security reasons and was delighted that Suzy Stride and Jackie Sully from Rainbow Services had asked Ed to speak with me about the work of MRCT in Harlow.  He spent over 10 minutes in the office with me and was very interested to hear about Maybury Open Door and Harlow Foodbank and was keen to ask about the many challenges we face in the future”.

Ed & Suzy also spent time during the visit talking with Jackie Sully, Director of Rainbow Services, and her team of staff and volunteers and other tenants of The Rainbow Centre.  After their tour of the building Ed & Suzy attended an informal reception held at The Rainbow Centre where they had refreshments and met people from other local organisations.
