Our Core Values

Mission Statement

MRCT promotes the value and significance of every person, empowering them to develop their potential and self-confidence.

By giving support and encouragement we provide opportunities for community integration, enabling each individual to help meet local social needs in a positive and practical way.

Some people need extra specific individual attention and support, a safe and friendly environment, where they can feel accepted and allowed to flourish as an individual, meeting with people who have a desire and determination to help and encourage them.

No matter how extreme an individual's circumstances may seem to be, with support and encouragement, their lives can be enhanced.

As a Christian-based organisation our aims and objectives are to develop voluntary work and social opportunities for people who are often perceived as being disadvantaged, either through a disability or social difficulty.

MRCT seeks to involve a wide range of people in all aspects of its work, promoting the value and significance of each person as an individual, encouraging them to take an active role in decision-making and future service planning. It also provides opportunities which will ENABLE them to serve their local community in a positive and practical way.

MRCT is committed to excellence with its work in the community and follows the Faithworks Charter which is a set of 15 principles for churches and Christian agencies to sign up to, in order to demonstrate this commitment as they serve their local community.

Making a difference - the facts speak for themselves!

The work of MRCT is really making a difference in people’s lives in Harlow through the people we support at Maybury Open Door, the emergency food we distribute to people in crisis with Harlow Foodbank and through the training and development of our “Supported Volunteer Programme”.

These works can be a lifeline to some people who are going through a period of difficulty or crisis in their life, often through no fault of their own.

  • Maybury Open Door supports over 200 people each week

  • Harlow Foodbank feeds over 150 people each month

  • The work is supported by a volunteer team of over 50 people who work between the two projects

  • In just 2 years Harlow foodbank has provided emergency food for over 2,500 people
