About MRCT _________________________________________ MRCT promotes the value and significance of every person, empowering them to develop their potential and self-confidence. By giving support and encouragement we provide
opportunities for community integration, Since our formation as a charity in 1997 MRCT has sought to involve people with a disability and socially disadvantaged people in all aspects of its work, promoting the value and significance of each person as an individual, encouraging them to take an active role in decision-making and future planning. Our key aim is the inclusion of all people, irrespective of social status, ability, disability, age, ethnic grouping or religious belief. It is all too easy to write off someone because they may not seem to be socially acceptable or fit into the general perception of how someone should look or act, but everyone has a part to play in their local community. People should be treated equally and have the same opportunities and encouragement in life to help them develop as an individual and reach their full potential. Making a difference in Harlow MRCT is a charity which focuses on PEOPLE and seeks to ENABLE & EMPOWER them by providing voluntary work and social opportunities in a safe and structured environment. Each person is VALUED as part of a team and encouraged to share their thoughts and opinions about our services, which benefits the charities work and the local community. Based in Harlow, MRCT has established two community projects which support a wide range of people as follows: Based at two locations in Harlow and managed by a team of MRCT Community Workers and Volunteers. It is a community drop-in resource which welcomes adults from 18+ years, seeking to promote community spirit and integration. Providing emergency food for people in crisis in Harlow. It is a COMMUNITY PROJECT which works in partnership with front-line care professionals, churches, schools, businesses, supermarkets and individuals seeking to promote community support for people who find themselves in difficulty, often through no fault of their own. Making a difference - the facts speak for themselves! The work of MRCT is really making a difference in people’s lives in Harlow through the people we support at Maybury Open Door, the emergency food we distribute to people in crisis with Harlow Foodbank and through the training and development of our “Supported Volunteer Programme”. These works can be a lifeline to some people who are going through a period of difficulty or crisis in their life, often through no fault of their own.
